Ingredients
- 16 ounces frozen hash browns
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Prepare the potatoes: Place the frozen hash browns in a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss well to ensure all the potatoes are evenly coated with the oil for better crisping during cooking.
- Arrange in air fryer: Spread the oiled hash browns in an even layer inside the air fryer basket to allow hot air circulation and even cooking. Sprinkle with salt and pepper evenly to season.
- Initial air frying: Air fry the hash browns at 370°F (188°C) for 15 minutes. This time allows the potatoes to begin crisping up and cooking through.
- Flip and season again: Using a spatula, break the hash browns gently into 4 sections for easier flipping. Carefully flip each section over to crisp the other side. Optionally add more salt and pepper to taste.
- Final air frying: Continue cooking the hash browns at 370°F for another 5 minutes or until they are as crispy as desired, ensuring a golden brown texture.
- Serve: Remove the hash browns from the air fryer and serve immediately while hot and crispy for best texture.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can increase the air fryer time by a few minutes but watch closely to avoid burning.
- If using fresh potatoes, be sure to shred and dry them well before air frying.
- Adjust seasoning according to taste, adding spices like paprika or garlic powder if preferred.
