Ingredients

Scale

For the Baked Apple Dip (serves 8)

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp apple pie spice
  • 2 large apples, chopped

For the Streusel Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tbsp melted butter

For Serving (Optional Dippers)

  • Graham crackers
  • Nilla Wafers cookies
  • Fresh apple slices
  • Pretzels or soft pretzel bites
  • Cinnamon sugar pita chips
  • Gingersnap cookies
  • Animal crackers or Teddy Grahams
  • Crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray your baking dish—such as an 8×6 Pyrex, 9×5 loaf pan, 8×8 square pan, or 9-inch pie plate—with non-stick cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the base: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons apple pie spice until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stir in most of the chopped apples, reserving some for topping. Spread this creamy apple and spiced cream cheese mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Mix and add the streusel topping: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add 4 tablespoons melted butter and mix until the mixture becomes crumbly, forming the streusel topping. Sprinkle the reserved chopped apples over the dip, then generously add just over half of the streusel topping on top, saving the remainder for another use like muffins or yogurt bowls.
  4. Bake and serve: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the streusel is golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature with your choice of dippers such as graham crackers, cookies, or fresh apple slices for an easy and delicious fall snack.

Notes

  • You can use an 8×6 Pyrex dish, 9×5 loaf pan, 8×8 square pan, or a 9-inch pie dish. Adjust baking time accordingly: deeper pans may need a few extra minutes, while shallower pans require less time.
  • Reserve some streusel topping for other recipes like muffins or to sprinkle on yogurt bowls for an added crunch.
  • Choose your favorite dippers to customize the serving experience—sweet or salty crackers and cookies work great.
  • The dip is best served warm or at room temperature but can be refrigerated and gently warmed before serving.
  • Ensure cream cheese is softened before mixing to achieve a smooth base.
