Tea Bomb Mixture
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp dried chamomile or dried peppermint tea (or your favorite calming herbal blend)
- Optional: pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)
- Warm the Honey Mixture: In a small saucepan, gently warm 1/2 cup honey over low heat until it becomes liquid and easy to mix, then remove from heat to prevent overheating.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1/2 tsp ground ginger, 1/4 tsp ground turmeric, and 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon into the warm honey, mixing thoroughly to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- Add Herbs to Mold: Sprinkle a pinch of dried chamomile or dried peppermint tea, or your chosen calming herbal blend, into each cavity of a silicone mold or ice cube tray, distributing the herbs evenly.
- Pour Honey Mixture: Pour the combined honey and spice mixture over the herbs in each cavity, filling them up carefully to preserve the distribution of herbs within the tea bombs.
- Let Set: Allow the tea bombs to cool completely at room temperature until they solidify; for quicker setting, place the mold in the refrigerator.
- Remove and Store: Once hardened, gently pop the tea bombs out of the mold and store them in an airtight container until ready to use.
- Use the Tea Bomb: To enjoy, place a tea bomb in a mug, pour hot water over it, and stir until fully dissolved to create a warm, comforting cup of tea.
Notes
- Using fresh grated ginger adds a brighter, fresher flavor but ground ginger works well too.
- A pinch of black pepper can enhance the absorption of turmeric’s beneficial compounds.
- Silicone molds are ideal for easy removal of hardened tea bombs.
- Store tea bombs in an airtight container in a cool place to maintain freshness.
- Adjust the amount or type of herbal tea to your preference to customize flavors.
