These Easy 7 Up Biscuits are a quick and delicious biscuit recipe using Bisquick, sour cream, and 7 Up soda for a light, fluffy texture. Perfectly golden and buttery, they bake up beautifully in under 30 minutes, making them an ideal side for any meal or a tasty snack on their own.

Ingredients

Scale

Biscuits

  • 4 cups Bisquick
  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup 7-Up (or Sprite)

Butter

  • 1/2 cup salted butter (melted, plus extra for brushing)

Optional Topping

  • Butter mixed with Italian seasoning
  • Parmesan cheese for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the salted butter into pats and melt it in a 9×13-inch baking dish; once melted, remove the dish from the oven and set aside the butter for later use.
  2. Mix dough: In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick and sour cream by cutting the sour cream into the Bisquick until the mixture becomes crumbly. Then stir in the 7 Up until just combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the biscuits tender.
  3. Knead and shape dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it lightly just a few times to bring it together, then pat the dough out to about ¾-inch thickness.
  4. Cut biscuits: Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out 12 biscuits from the dough. Gently gather and re-roll the scraps if needed to cut out the remaining biscuits.
  5. Arrange and bake: Place the cut biscuits into the prepared buttered baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  6. Optional finishing touch: For added flavor and shine, brush the tops of the warm biscuits with extra melted butter or butter mixed with Italian seasoning, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Substitute sour cream with plain Greek yogurt for a tangier, healthier option.
  • Using 7 Up or Sprite helps the biscuits rise and adds a subtle sweetness.
  • Do not overmix the dough to ensure tender, flaky biscuits.
  • Brush with flavored butter and Parmesan for a savory upgrade perfect for dinner sides.
  • Biscuits are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
