Ingredients
- 4 ounces Brie cheese, ½ of an 8-ounce wheel
- ½ cup cranberry sauce, purchased or homemade
- 1.9 ounces package frozen mini fillo shells (15 shells)
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it is ready for baking the fillo shells.
- Prepare Brie: Cut the brie cheese into ½ inch squares. You may remove the rind if you prefer, though it is edible and can be left on for extra texture and flavor.
- Assemble Bites: Place one brie square inside each mini fillo shell.
- Add Cranberry Sauce: Spoon about ½ teaspoon of cranberry sauce on top of the brie in each shell.
- Bake: Arrange the filled fillo shells on a small baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes, until the brie starts to soften and the shells are crisp. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- To prepare ahead, assemble the bites without baking. Place them back in the original tray, cover tightly with plastic wrap, and freeze up to three months. Thaw before baking as directed.
- Substitute cranberry sauce with pepper jelly, fig preserves, honey, or your favorite jam for different flavor variations.
- Puff pastry or crescent roll dough can replace the mini fillo shells; cut into small squares and bake in mini muffin cups. Adjust baking time accordingly.
- The rind on brie cheese is edible and can be left on or removed based on preference.
