Ingredients

Scale

Classic Fall Pretzel Rods

  • 6 pretzel rods
  • 10 oz Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • 2 tablespoons fall-themed sprinkles

Reese’s Peanut Butter Pretzel Rods

  • 6 pretzel rods
  • 10 oz Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • 1 box Reese’s Pieces
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or 1/4 cup peanut butter chips)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to set dipped pretzel rods and keep them from sticking.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Place the 10 oz of Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Melting Wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Dip Pretzel Rods: Holding a pretzel rod, dip it into the melted chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the rod. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing it on the prepared parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Decorate Classic Rods: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of fall-themed sprinkles over the dipped portion of the pretzel rods.
  5. Prepare Peanut Butter Drizzle: For the Reese’s Peanut Butter Pretzel Rods, melt 2 tablespoons of peanut butter or peanut butter chips in a small microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  6. Decorate Reese’s Rods: After dipping pretzels in chocolate as above, sprinkle Reese’s Pieces over the chocolate portion immediately. Then, using a spoon, drizzle the melted peanut butter over the pretzel rods for added flavor and decoration.
  7. Set Pretzels: Allow all decorated pretzel rods to cool and the chocolate to harden completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
  8. Serve or Store: Once set, arrange the pretzel rods on a serving platter or store them in an airtight container for up to several days. For longer storage, refrigerate to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • The recipe can easily be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled for parties or larger gatherings.
  • You can skip the peanut butter drizzle or replace it with melted peanut butter chips if preferred.
  • Store finished pretzel rods in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days; refrigeration can extend freshness.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  • Try pairing these pretzel rods with other festive fall treats like pumpkin desserts or cinnamon rolls for a themed party spread.
