  • 3 tablespoons potato starch
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons neutral oil for pan-frying
  • 8 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks green onion (green and white parts separated)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes

Sauce

  • ½ cup chicken stock (or sub: water & chicken bouillon)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Garnish

  • Green onion (green part)
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. SOY GARLIC CHICKEN SAUCE: Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl: chicken stock, honey, rice vinegar, dark soy sauce, cornstarch. Mix well and set aside.
  2. CHICKEN: Pat dry the chicken thighs. Mix potato starch, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on a plate. Coat chicken thighs. Pan-fry in hot oil until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. SAUCE: In the same pan, sauté garlic, white part of green onion, and chili flakes. Add sauce, cook until thickened. Return chicken to pan, cook until glossy.
  4. Serve with veggies and rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
