Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 lb ground turkey

Vegetables

  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Spices & Herbs

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

Oils & Fats

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat Oil and Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Cook Ground Turkey: Add ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add Vegetables: Stir in the sliced bell peppers and onion. Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
  4. Season the Stir-Fry: Sprinkle cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper over the mixture. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired and serve the stir-fry warm, as a main dish or with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • You can adjust the seasoning to your preference, adding a pinch of chili flakes for heat if desired.
  • For a lower sodium option, reduce the amount of salt or use a salt substitute.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice for a gluten-free option.
  • Fresh cilantro adds a bright, fresh flavor but can be omitted if not preferred.
  • Use lean ground turkey (93% lean or higher) to keep the dish healthier.
