Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Marinade

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Bacon & Sliders

  • 6 slices beef bacon
  • 6 slider buns
  • 1 cup arugula

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the chicken after initial searing.
  2. Season Chicken: Season the boneless, skinless chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
  3. Prepare Maple-Dijon Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and Dijon mustard until smooth to create a sweet and tangy glaze.
  4. Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, forming a golden crust to lock in juices.
  5. Glaze & Bake: Brush both sides of the seared chicken breasts with the maple-Dijon mixture, then transfer the skillet or chicken to the oven. Bake for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Cook Bacon: While the chicken bakes, cook the beef bacon slices in a separate skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain excess fat on paper towels to keep bacon crisp.
  7. Slice Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and slice it thinly for easy slider assembly.
  8. Assemble Sliders: Lay a layer of fresh arugula on the bottom half of each slider bun. Top with sliced chicken, a crispy bacon slice, and cover with the top bun.
  9. Serve: Serve the sliders immediately while warm and enjoy the combination of sweet, savory, and fresh flavors.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a slice of sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese to each slider.
  • Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier, more flavorful slider.
  • Substitute beef bacon with turkey bacon for a leaner option.
  • Can be prepared ahead: cook chicken and bacon, then assemble sliders just before serving.
  • To keep sliders warm, cover with foil and place in a low oven (200°F) until ready to serve.
