Instructions

  1. Crush the Strawberries: Add 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries to a food processor and pulse until they turn into a fine powder, which will enhance their flavor and texture in the coating.
  2. Make the Strawberry Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted. Stir in the strawberry gelatin powder and the crushed strawberry powder until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Coat Strawberry Chex: Pour the melted strawberry mixture evenly over 3 cups of rice Chex cereal in a mixing bowl. Gently stir to coat all the cereal pieces with the strawberry mixture.
  4. Powder Strawberry Layer: Transfer the coated strawberry Chex to a zip-top plastic bag containing 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Seal the bag tightly and shake vigorously until all cereal pieces are fully coated with powdered sugar.
  5. Make the Chocolate Coating: Melt 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon butter together in a microwave-safe bowl using 20-second bursts, stirring until smooth and melted.
