These Peppermint Oreo Cookies are a delightful treat that combines the flavors of mint, chocolate, and cream cheese in a soft and chewy cookie. Perfect for holiday gatherings or any time you’re craving a sweet and minty dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 box white cake mix

Wet Ingredients:

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Mix-Ins:

  • 1 cup Oreo cookie chunks
  • 1 cup Andes Peppermint Crunch pieces + extra for topping
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips + extra for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the dry cake mix, butter, egg, extracts, and cream cheese. Beat until a soft dough forms.
  2. Add Mix-Ins: Gently stir in the cookie chunks, peppermint crunch pieces, and chocolate chips. Refrigerate the dough for at least 60 minutes.
  3. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (180°C).
  4. Shape Dough: Roll the chilled dough into 24 balls. Place half on a baking sheet and refrigerate the rest.
  5. Bake: Bake for 10-11 minutes. Do not overbake; cookies will be soft. Let them cool on the sheet briefly before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Finish: If desired, press extra chocolate chips and peppermint pieces onto the warm cookies. Let cool completely before storing.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, consider drizzling melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies.
  • These cookies freeze well for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
