For the Chicken:

  • 1.5 lbs (about 3 medium) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ tsp mustard
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

For Serving:

  • 3 cups cooked white rice

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until golden and fully cooked (about 6–8 minutes).
  2. Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same pan, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté. Pour in chicken broth to deglaze. Add heavy cream, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese. Simmer until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Smother the Chicken: Return cooked chicken to the pan. Simmer together for 3–4 minutes until chicken is coated in the sauce.
  4. Serve: Plate cooked rice, spoon creamy chicken and sauce on top. Garnish with fresh parsley.
