Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 6 tablespoons margarine, divided (4 tablespoons and 2 tablespoons, your favorite brand – Blue Bonnet recommended)
  • 10 ounces marshmallows (approximately 40 large marshmallows or 5½ cups mini marshmallows)
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (Great Value brand suggested)

Decorations

  • 2 ounces white almond bark
  • 16 chocolate-covered pretzels
  • 1 red M&M (for Rudolph’s nose)
  • 7 brown M&Ms
  • 16 candy eyes
  • Colorful sprinkles (for reindeer “hair”)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Use your hands to spread 2 tablespoons of margarine around a 10-inch springform pan. Optionally, place a parchment paper circle on the buttery bottom to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt margarine: Add the remaining 4 tablespoons of margarine to a 5 to 6-quart heavy-bottomed stock pot and melt over medium-high heat until fully melted.
  3. Melt marshmallows: Add marshmallows to the melted margarine, stirring continuously until completely melted and smooth, ensuring no chunks remain to keep the treats crunchy. Remove from heat.
  4. Mix cereal: Stir the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture until thoroughly combined.
  5. Shape treats: Pour the mixture into the prepared springform pan and gently press down to create an even, level surface. Allow the treats to cool for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from pan: Once cool, place a large cutting board over the pan, flip it over, and carefully remove the sides and bottom of the springform pan.
  7. Cut into pieces: Use a large sharp knife to cut the circular treat into halves, then quarters, and finally slice each quarter into pie-shaped triangles.
  8. Melt almond bark: Place the 2 ounces of white almond bark into a small heat-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth.
  9. Attach antlers: On the top two corners of each triangular treat, dab a small dot of melted almond bark and press a chocolate-covered pretzel on each dot to form antlers.
  10. Add eyes: In the center of each triangle, dab two small dots of melted almond bark and place candy eyes onto the dots.
  11. Add nose: At the pointed end of each triangle, place a dab of almond bark and add either a red M&M (to represent Rudolph’s nose) or a brown M&M for other reindeer noses.
  12. Decorate hair: Dab a final dot of almond bark between the pretzel antlers and sprinkle colorful sprinkles as reindeer “hair.” Allow the decorated treats to dry completely before serving.

Notes

  • Using a springform pan helps in easily removing the treats without breaking them.
  • If you don’t have white almond bark, white chocolate chips can be used as an alternative for decorating.
  • Use parchment paper to make removing treats even easier and to avoid greasing.
  • Press the Rice Krispie mixture firmly but gently to ensure the treats hold together well.
  • Allow enough time for the almond bark decorations to fully set and dry before serving to avoid smudging.
  • Store treats in an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to 3 days.
