Ingredients

Scale

Noodles

  • 6 oz Roland® Organic Udon Noodles

Sauce and Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (plus additional for garnish)
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Roland® Sriracha Chili Sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, chopped (plus additional for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup neutral oil

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Boil the Roland® Organic Udon Noodles according to package instructions until they are tender. Once cooked, rinse the noodles under cold water for a few seconds to stop the cooking process, then drain well and set aside.
  2. Heat Oil: In a saucepan, heat 1/4 cup of neutral oil over medium-high heat until it is sizzling hot, which will help bring out the flavors when poured over the noodles.
  3. Assemble Noodles: Place the drained noodles in a large bowl. Add 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce, 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce, 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes, the chopped green onions, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, and 1 tablespoon Roland® Sriracha Chili Sauce on top of the noodles.
  4. Combine with Hot Oil: Carefully pour the sizzling hot oil over the noodles and the mixture of toppings. The heat from the oil will lightly cook the aromatics and release their flavors.
  5. Mix Well: Toss all the ingredients thoroughly until the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce and toppings.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the noodles with additional green onions and sesame seeds, then serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of Sriracha and crushed red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
  • Using a neutral oil like vegetable or canola is best to avoid overpowering the flavors.
  • For added protein, consider topping with grilled tofu, chicken, or shrimp.
  • This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 day and reheated gently.
