Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 ounces pasta of choice

Beef Mixture

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 medium yellow onions, diced
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons sweet paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Buttery Spice Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon mild pepper paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint (or fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika (not smoked)
  • 1 teaspoon Turkish chili flakes (or regular chili flakes)

Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (or plain yogurt)
  • 23 small garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 23 tablespoons water (optional, to thin sauce)

Garnish

  • 1/4 cup minced parsley
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, diced

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Cook the 8 ounces of pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sear Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, sear the 1 pound of lean ground beef without adding oil. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until it releases natural oils and is almost cooked through.
  3. Add Onions and Spices: Add the diced onions, salt, pepper, 2 teaspoons sweet paprika powder, 2 tablespoons onion powder, and 1 tablespoon tomato paste to the beef. Mix everything well.
  4. Cook Onion and Beef Mixture: Continue to cook until the onions become translucent and fully cooked, about 3 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
  5. Prepare Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add olive oil, mild pepper paste, dried mint, sweet paprika, and Turkish chili flakes. Stir to combine and cook for about 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside.
  6. Make Garlic Yogurt Sauce: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and 2-3 tablespoons water to thin if necessary. Mix thoroughly for a smooth garlic yogurt sauce.
  7. Assemble the Dish: Place the cooked pasta on a deep dish or plate. Spread a quarter of the garlic yogurt sauce over the pasta, then top with the seasoned beef mixture. Drizzle with the butter spice sauce, and garnish with minced parsley and diced cherry tomatoes. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use pasta of your choice, such as penne, fusilli, or spaghetti, based on preference.
  • The garlic yogurt sauce can be adjusted in thickness by adding more or less water.
  • Adjust the chili flakes according to your desired spice level.
  • Fresh mint can be substituted for dried mint for a more vibrant flavor.
  • This recipe is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
